Review Fix Exclusive: Jay Longo Talks Focus Foam Darts

Review Fix chats with Jay Longo, Owner, Focus Foam Dart Trainer, to find out what inspired the product and so much more.

Review Fix: What inspired this product?

Jay Longo: I was throwing darts in my basement, trying to lock in on the 20 segment. I put some paper on the board to help me focus, but it didn’t stay in place too well — and that’s when I started thinking bigger. As a former screen printer with vinyl-cutting equipment, I jumped on my computer, designed a digital dartboard, and cut a vinyl stencil that perfectly matched the segments I wanted open. The moment I applied it to the board, it all clicked — the idea came to life right in front of me.

Review Fix: What was the creation process like?

Longo: Once I had the idea down and started using vinyl, I quickly realized I hated the sound of the darts hitting it. As a former screen printer who’s spent plenty of time in craft stores, I remembered those 2mm thick foam sheets they sell. I had no idea if my cutter could handle foam, but I decided to give it a shot — and to my surprise, it cut almost perfectly. That’s when I knew I had something brewing. From there, I started creating designs on my computer, removing certain segments of the board, and focusing on the areas I liked to throw at. It kinda just snowballed from there.

Review Fix: What’s next has the response been like?

Longo: The response has been incredible! We’ve had everyone from beginners to world-famous dart players purchase our products, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Review Fix: What’s your favorite thing about focusformdarts?

Longo: My favorite thing about Focus Foam Darts is hearing from complete strangers who tell me how much the trainer has improved their game. When someone says that dart night has become their favorite night of the week because of my product, that’s something truly special.

Review Fix: What other cool products do you have?

Longo: We’ve got some new trainers coming out soon, and we’re expanding our lineup! We now offer a full range of products for soft-tip (electric) dartboards, along with our new magnetic trainers for steel-tip boards. These use built-in neodymium magnets that attach securely to the board — they stay perfectly in place and don’t move at all during play.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Longo: Next up, we’re focused on expanding the product globally. We already sell internationally through Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and our own website, but the main goal right now is getting the product in front of more dart players’ eyes. Once people see it and try it, we’re confident the growth will follow.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Longo: With our trademark secured and patent pending, we’re preparing to expand globally and continue growing the Focus Foam Dart Trainer brand. Our number one goal is to benefit the game and help dart players improve — it’s all for the love of darts.

Review Fix: Where can people find out more?

Longo: You can find us at www.focusfoamdarts.com. We’re also on Amazon, eBay, and Etsy — just search for Focus Foam
