Review Fix Exclusive: Eric North Talks Happiness and Goals

Review Fix chats with The Happiness Warrior Eric North about the world, his goals and what’s next for him this year.

About The Happiness Warrior:

Eric North thinks he has a genetic disposition to set things right– and regardless of what’s going on in your day to day, no matter how fraught and anxious 2022 may be for you, he wants to help you do something that, once taken to heart, will change your life. He wants you to give yourself permission to be happy. After years of entrepreneurial success with two thriving Washington DC based businesses dedicated to life changing therapies, he’s found new purpose and passion leading people to the next level in their emotional and spiritual lives as “The HappinessWarrior.”

As we see on his recently launched Instagram page TheWarriorMode, Eric is “forging a new path in a changing world.” He’s done it on the platform before, gaining a massive following on the platform for his @50redfined page, which he created in 2014, the year he turned the big 5-0. By posting pictures of his ultra-fit body (which keeps his modeling agent in NYC busy) and motivational videos, he helped change the minds of thousands about aging and showcased an alternative to just “getting old.” Driven by his long-held theory that “every seven years, we go through a positive, momentum shifting upheaval in our lives,” the lifestyle visionary is now expanding, rebranding and building momentum as a force for leading others to finding personal happiness in an increasingly negative world.

Review Fix: For those who don’t know, what do you do as The Happiness Warrior?

Eric North: As The Happiness Warrior I’ve taken on a role that I find extremely important, inspiring, and humbling. After years of questioning my purpose in life, I’ve found my calling with a focused mission to help all of us gain happier lives with more understanding of who we are and what makes us real and authentic. I believe that happiness is only our reality when we trust ourselves to be who we are and live in the freedom of our truth and vulnerability.

After many years as a successful entrepreneur and multiple business owner I’m ecstatic that I’ve found a new direction and purpose in life. The Happiness Warrior is the true and authentic version of who I am and strive to live by example by showing how important it is to be the best version of ourselves to live the lives we deserve.

Review Fix: The world has gone mad the past two years. How would The Happiness Warrior help?

North: Fear is the problem that I think most about, and we see how much it divides us in our society. Fear is such an easy way to manipulate people and we must change the paradigm to see it for what it really is. I realize that fear is a natural emotion that we need to respect the power of something stronger or harmful. However, fear is mostly a self-created and societally driven way to divide and control us. Fear sets us apart and weakens our shared experience as humans. As the Happiness Warrior my job is to help us confront our fears and see fear as something that we can overcome to drive us forward to create new opportunities, and happier lives. Fear is a killer of dreams and happiness.

Review Fix: What do you think the world is missing right now?

North: Empathy is what we are missing, and this is where my warrior instinct kicks in and activates. Empathy is a learned trait that we’ve been taught to think of as a weakness. Empathy creates better leaders and increases self-awareness which the world needs very much right now. People are angry, increasingly self-motivated, and lies are embedded in the framework of our culture and messaging.  It’s natural to want to take care of ourselves and protect our own interests but we’ve lost sight of the importance of acceptance of others and the greater good for all.  As The Happiness Warrior, I believe that every human being matters, and every voice is important.

Review Fix: What advice would you give to people looking for help?

North: When you’re feeling fearful, disconnected, angry, and confused, look for happy people. Watch them and observe their happiness and think about how great it would be to be one of them. Know that happy people are welcoming and empathetic by nature and give them a chance. Happy people want to help lift you up and support you.  See happy people and allow yourself to smile and feel like anything is possible.

I always think about my Aunt Nancy, she was the happiest person I knew, and she was forever spreading good will and joy to others. She was an advocate for the mentally disabled and changed so many lives for the better. When I was growing up, she always made me feel good about who I was and was when I wasn’t even sure myself. She was my original Happiness Warrior.

Review Fix: What ways do you keep yourself happy amid all the craziness in the world?

North: I stay very informed about world events and am a bit of a news junkie. I want to be aware as angry as it makes me sometimes, because I want to make a difference in any area that I can. I write and I shoot videos and I talk about how to be happy even in times of adversity and chaos. Even the tiniest mindset changes can make a difference in the path of our lives and the momentum that it can create. It makes me happy when I see people that I’ve touched in some way who found the courage to empower themselves and find their path!

Review Fix: What matters most to you right now?

North: Building my audience and reaching more listeners and readers. I believe the world is ready for change and as a natural leader and visionary my mission is to create more happiness and empathy to create a movement for a happiness mindset. We can create more happiness warriors when we believe that our lives and happiness matter.

Review Fix: What’s next?

North: I have a constantly expanding world of opportunities and new ground to cover. Publishing my first book, developing a podcast and television opportunities are number one in 2022. Philanthropy is always on my mind, and I’d like to know that in my final years I gave back more than I took from this life.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

North: In my experience the only thing standing in the way of achieving greater happiness, fulfillment, and purpose in our lives is ourselves. Mindset and attitude are entirely our own and ours to create and develop. When we give ourselves permission to be happy and fully embrace change and the unknown, we can be the best versions of ourselves. The world needs more happy people, and we can only be better when we understand this basic truth!
