Review Fix: What inspired the comic?

Art Bernal: For me, my inspiration came from Tony himself. It was his enthusiasm, ideas and drive that convinced me to dive headfirst into the project.

Review Fix: What did it take for this to be realized?  What was the journey like?

Bernal: Actually, the main thing was, and is, the blocking out of time to do the writing. Given that both of us have busy lives, coordinating our schedules has been challenging. Thankfully, Tony is a fountain of ideas. Once we set up our meetings, the rest follows effortlessly.

And as for the journey, it has been one wonderful creative moment after another. This project has been pure joy.

Review Fix: What makes this comic special?

Bernal: I believe that it is the combination of our personalities, experiences and love of storytelling that makes our comic unique.

Tony’s strength is his vivid imagination, his background in the wrestling world and his incorporating of real life circumstances that give all the characters an added dimension not seen elsewhere.

My contribution is my love for classic films and visual storytelling that gives me the opportunity to add subtle details and references that are a playful wink to readers. My hope is that our readers discover and enjoy the details.

Review Fix: Who do you think will dig it the most?

Bernal: Anyone with a sense of humor. Tony and I have made the comic a fun and playful read that anyone can enjoy.

Review Fix: What are your goals for it?

Bernal: Quite simply, getting the average comic book fan a chance to enjoy the story lines. If we can make people smile, that would be a great accomplishment.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Bernal: As of this moment, we are trying to get our comic animated and turned into a film. That has become a time consuming endeavor but progress is being made. We are hopeful that our film will be ready for viewing next year.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Bernal: I would like to thank all of the people (friends, family and readers) who have supported us from the very beginning and continuously encourage us to do more.

Review Fix: Where can people find more of you?

Bernal: Our readers can reach us through the website at www.highvoltagecomics.org or check me out through my LinkedIn page, Art Bernal in NYC.
