Review Fix: When did this journey begin?

Mick Hunt: My journey began at the tender age of 10, on a day that forever changed my life. I made a solemn promise to my mom—a promise to change her life, bring peace, and create a legacy that our family could be proud of. That morning, a boy transformed into a man, driven by an unwavering determination to alter the course of his life and that of his siblings. This promise, my ‘because,’ has been the relentless force propelling me forward ever since. It’s not just about achieving success; it’s about fulfilling a mission that transcends personal ambition and impacts the lives of those I love and serve.

Review Fix: At any time did it feel almost impossible to be where you are?

Hunt: Absolutely, there were times when the journey felt almost impossible. The path to success is strewn with obstacles, and I’ve faced my fair share of setbacks. There were moments of profound doubt, times when the weight of challenges seemed unbearable. But I embraced each obstacle as a stepping stone, a chance to grow stronger and wiser. Mental resilience and an unwavering determination have been my steadfast companions. I drew strength from my ‘because’—that deep-seated promise—to push through the darkest times. Every challenge was an opportunity to prove my commitment to my mission, to turn adversity into advantage, and to transform obstacles into opportunities.

Review Fix: How do you think you change lives?

Hunt: I believe I change lives by igniting the spark within others to find their ‘because’ and harness its transformative power. Through Mick Unplugged, my podcast and media platform, I share stories of resilience, triumph, and innovation that inspire others to push beyond their limits and achieve greatness. My focus on the MICK Factor—Mastery, Imagination, Character, and Keep Going—provides a robust framework for personal and professional growth. By mentoring and coaching, I equip individuals with the tools, mindset, and strategies needed to transform their lives and leave a lasting impact. I believe in empowering others to see beyond their immediate circumstances, to envision a future where they are not just surviving, but thriving and making a significant difference in their world.

Review Fix: What’s been your biggest success doing this?

Hunt: One of my greatest successes has been the creation and impact of the MICK Factor framework. This model has transformed lives and businesses, guiding people towards mastery, unleashing their imagination, strengthening their character, and instilling the perseverance to keep going. Witnessing the tangible, positive changes in the lives of those I’ve coached and mentored has been incredibly rewarding. Additionally, launching Mick Unplugged and seeing it rise to become the #1 podcast in Self Improvement has been a monumental achievement. The platform has reached a global audience, sharing powerful stories that inspire and motivate countless listeners. It’s a testament to the power of storytelling and the profound impact of sharing authentic, transformative experiences.

Review Fix: Considering all you’ve done, what keeps you going?

Hunt: What keeps me going is my ‘because’—the promise I made to my family and the legacy I am building. The transformational stories from those I’ve mentored and coached fuel my passion. Knowing that I’ve played a part in their journey, seeing them achieve their dreams and overcome their challenges, is immensely fulfilling. My mentor, Les Brown, has also been a tremendous source of inspiration and guidance. His wisdom and encouragement have reinforced the importance of perseverance, impact, and living a purpose-driven life. The desire to leave a lasting legacy, to be a source of hope and inspiration for others, is what drives me to keep pushing forward, to keep innovating, and to continue making a difference.

Review Fix: What are your goals moving forward?

Hunt: Looking ahead, my goals include expanding the reach and influence of Mick Unplugged, solidifying its position as the premier platform for self-improvement and motivation. I plan to create Leadership and Speaker Summits across the country, bringing together thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to share insights and strategies for success. These summits will provide immersive experiences that inspire, educate, and empower attendees to elevate their leadership and impact. Additionally, I’m working on my book, “How to Be a Great Leader when You’ve Never Seen One!” aimed at guiding the new generation of leaders to find their unique path to greatness. I want to create a movement, a ripple effect that reaches far and wide, transforming lives and communities across the globe.

Review Fix: What’s next first?

Hunt: The next exciting step is the “Lead with Impact: The MICK Factor Executive Mastermind” program, launching on July 11th. This event will provide deep insights and actionable strategies for business leaders to enhance their leadership skills and create lasting impact. It’s an intensive, hands-on experience designed to equip leaders with the tools they need to drive their organizations to new heights. Following that, I am focused on planning the Leadership and Speaker Summits, which will bring dynamic and inspiring experiences to cities across the nation. These events are not just about learning; they are about transformation, about unlocking the potential within each attendee and empowering them to take bold, decisive action in their lives and careers.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Hunt: I want to emphasize the power of having a ‘because’—a deeper purpose that goes beyond superficial goals. Your ‘because’ is the driving force that keeps you moving forward, even in the face of adversity. It’s crucial to identify and embrace this purpose, to let it fuel your journey and inspire your actions. I am also deeply grateful for the mentorship of Les Brown, who has been instrumental in my journey. His guidance has helped me harness my potential and impact the lives of others profoundly. I believe that by sharing our stories, our ‘because,’ we can inspire others to find their own path to greatness. Together, we can create a world where everyone is empowered to live their best life.
