The Bright Collide: Colorful Wishes Review: A Killer Track

Post-Punk and Indie Alternative are genre names that get thrown out on music websites and by PR agents all day, but few know what they really mean. Simply put, they both mean music with great lyrics, a nifty guitar solo sprinkled in, drum work that makes you want to kick the drum pedal yourself and a hook that makes you want to sing it yourself because you feel like it was written for you and is about you.

The Bright Collide’s Colorful Wishes not only understands these concepts, but are clear definitions of both terms. Featuring excellent vocal work, killer drums and a guitar solo you’ll wish was in something like Guitar Hero. The melody here is hum worthy too. Overall, it’s a track that exposes more ear wigs after every listen without sounding overly commercial or cliche.

Although the Bowie and Smashing Pumpkins vibes are totally present, there are sounds and elements that can’t be described here, making for a unique track. According to the band, there’s also plans to add some electronic elements to their work. Excited isn’t the word. This band incorporates so many fun elements of indie alternative and post-punk into their work that they are essentially a retro-yet brand new experience for the ears.

Keep an eye out for them.
