Dr. Dave: Reserved For Abbie Review: Sexy

A track about a woman you’re attracted to is nothing new in music- especially Jazz, but Dr. Dave delivers something especially hot in his new single, “Reserved For Abbie.”

Smooth, soulful and absolutely serenading throughout, Dave and his accompanying musicians are on their A-game here in the near five-minute track.

Fans of Dr. Dave’s previous work, mainly his infectiously seductive “Sexy Cindy” – one of Dr. Dave’s biggest hits ever, ranking #1 for Smooth Jazz Guitar songs in the U.S. on Radio Guitar One’s Top 20, will not be disappointed here.

This track is a masterclass in modern Jazz. Every instrument crushes their solos and adds to the overall flavor. It’s like a building of sensation, leading to a climax you won’t forget. Simply put, it’s impossible to not want to close your eyes and snap your fingers to this one. The saxophone, done impeccably by Ronnie Laws, in particular gets it done wonderfully, but the guitars and small vocal stylings are just as important a piece to the formula of the track. Overall, it’s just a multi-layered track that is beyond the sum of all of its parts.

A song that ultimately serves as a wonderful introduction to sultry jazz and old-school R&B, Dr. Dave continues to prove he’s got the prescription for fun and sexy tracks.
