After 7’s Keith Mitchell Drops His Debut Gospel Full CD Project ‘Food For Your Life’ Worldwide on July 11th

“Food For Your Life” will be available on all digital music platforms Worldwide.

Still anointed and shining in the divine light of the Lord after more than three decades of singing R&B, Keith is finding his own voice as a solo artist and fully embracing his musical destiny after garnering tremendous success recording and touring as part of the 80’s-90’s legendary, Grammy-Nominated R&B vocal group After 7. Founded in 1987 by Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, and long-time friend Keith Mitchell, the trio was initially produced by mega hit-makers Babyface (the Edmonds’ younger brother) L.A. Reid, and Daryl Simmons in the group’s self-titled 1989 debut album which spawned the Billboard #1 R&B (and Hot 100 Top Ten) hits “Ready or Not” and “Can’t Stop.” They released two more albums (including the platinum-selling Takin’ My Time) over the next decade before their initial split.

Reuniting in the late 2000s, After 7 resumed touring, but not without experiencing musical highs and personal lows. In 2015, their comeback single, “I Want You,” hit the Top 10 AC Chart, and a few years later…unexpectedly came face to face with the passing of Melvin Edmonds in 2019. Though the group endured a monumental loss of 1/3 of After 7, the trio forged ahead and released its fifth album, UNFINISHED BUSINESS, in 2021.

Coinciding with the drop of “He’s Alive,” Mitchell officially departed from After 7 in January 2025 and began working to finalize his own body of work, FOOD FOR YOUR LIFE, for future release.

Keith chose “He’s Alive” as his introductory post-After 7 single because the music instantly engages not only the senses, but also the spirit. “The fact that Jesus is alive is the most fundamental aspect of anyone’s belief in Christ,” he adds.

His song titles for the album project reflect the beauty of the many glorious truths he shares throughout – “I Owe Him My Life,” “I Just Love to Love the Lord,” “Waiting On Ya,” “Rescue Me,” “I Love Him” and, the 2nd single from the album, “The Kingdom,” a powerfully infectious urban groove, hailing the declaration of the system Christ The King intended for a Christian lifestyle.

FOOD FOR YOUR LIFE is slated for release July 11th followed by the new single, “The Kingdom” in August.
