In a day where AI music has taken over Apple Music, Amazon and Spotify, where classic tracks have been butchered and dismayed by technology, singer/songwriter SaraEllen comes along and does what real music buffs have wanted for the past few years- take the skills away from technology and use their imagination to put spins on classics.
Her jazz cover of the Hole hit, “Doll Parts,” is eerily and beautiful rendition of the track, powered by saxophone and piano. However, it’s SaraEllen’s hauntingly beautiful voice that elevates the song and makes it feel brand new.
Known for her work with experimental indie pop duo Plaid Lion, playing with genres is nothing new to her, but this project is a fun one that absolutely with attract her ears to her. She’s confident throughout this one and the instrumentation here is excellent. Although simple in composition, this song hits- and hits hard.
Fans of Hole deserve to give this one a shot and those looking for some new REAL music, will find this a delightful alternative than AI algorithms destroying the music they grew up with.

Hickey Jr. is also a voice actor, having starred in the 2018 indie hit and 2019 Switch, PS4 and Xbox One release, The Padre (also serving as English language Story Editor), from Shotgun With Glitters. The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
