A Gazillion Reasons to Smile

Unlike many other things in life, the little soapy, gas-filled spheres known as bubbles never get old. Regardless of where you are in life, there’s just something fun and cool about them that inspire smiles.

Considering that, it’s not a remarkable endeavor when Bubble artist Deni Yang promises in the beginning of “The Gazillion Bubble Show” that he’ll make you happy through his artistry with both bubbles and laser lights. That fact that he ultimately does in what ends up an entertaining show is all that matters.

Nonetheless, there are some missteps along the way in his presentation that hamper the show’s overall appeal, making it more of a child-friendly performance than anything truly satisfying for adults. You will however, regardless of your age, leave with a smile on your face.

Charismatic, Yang has excellent stage presence and captivates doing what he does best. From the very start of the show, he tells us his story of world bubble domination and quickly, we see that he is a master. Lets face it, blowing huge bubbles and bubbles inside of other bubbles, some with smoke inside and so forth, is no easy task. The look on the kids’ faces in the crowd says it all during this process, as their shock and disbelief is truly heartwarming. Just to witness this as an adult is a delight, a reminder of simpler times, when something so insignificant could bring so much laughter and happiness.

One child’s mouth was open in fascination for so long, you would have thought a bubble would have ended up in there.

Because of this, it’s incredibly hard not to like the feast for the eyes and imagination this show is. The problems with the presentation are a bit of an eyesore however, as misspellings in the video montages hurt the product’s overall credibility. The pacing of the show is a bit on the sluggish side as well. Many of the stories told in-between the bubble exhibitions and laser show lack the same polish and flair as the live demonstrations. It’s understandable that these elements are needed, as the stage is prepared for the next scene, but it’s obvious that something else added in their place would have kept adults a bit more entertained throughout.

Nevertheless, in spite of these problems, by the end of the show, between the brilliant bubble bonanza and the enlightening lucid laser exhibition, “The Gazillion Bubble Show” is far from a waste of time and something that your kids will remember for a long time.
