NEW ALBUM CABIN BY THE SEA OUT ON JUNE 19
LOS ANGELES, CA – SoCal alt-rockers The Dirty Heads are set to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated album Cabin By The Sea with a visit to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on July 10th. The appearance will feature the first-ever nationally televised performance of their hit “Spread Too Thin†from JKL’s famed Bud Light Outdoor Stage. The album is set for global release on Five Seven Music on June 19th.
The lead single from Cabin By The Sea, “Spread Too Thin,†is quickly shaping up to be one of the biggest tunes for summer 2012. Debuted by KROQ LA earlier this spring, the track is currently #13 on the Alternative chart (according to Mediabase) with a cumulative audience of over 38 million listeners. The band recently partnered with MTV to premiere the music video. The album features collaborations with Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani Marley and Rome, as well as Matisyahu with whom the band will launch a co-headline North American tour in July.
Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, The Dirty Heads combine an intriguing mix of hip-hop, reggae and alternative rock with a sunny California swagger. The band released their debut album, Any Port In A Storm in September of 2008, which features the hit track “Lay Me Down,†a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart, more than any single that year by any other artist. It is an RIAA certified gold single. Rolling Stone touted the ‘Heads as one of the year’s best new bands and they were among the first bands featured on YouTube’s Raw Session. The band most recently performed at KROQ’s sold out 20th Annual Weenie Roast y Fiesta in Los Angeles, CA on Cinco de Mayo, which also featured Coldplay, Incubus, Group Love and others.
