RAW Unpower Rankings: No Respect

The first show after Summerslam, the WWE dropped the ball big time, burying two of their top stars and writing in the departure of Brock Lesnar. So now what? John Cena vs. a clearly beleaguered and unimportant CM Punk? The WWE will have to scramble now to put something decent together for Night of Champions and we’re not talking about the card. There’s no drama right now, no reason to stay tuned.

Here’s our list of five superstars getting the shaft in the company right now.

5: Tensai: When was the last time this guy did anything memorable on TV? With all his success in Japan, the WWE thought he’d be a great upper-mid-card heel. Instead, he’s a good worker that simply bores American audiences. Much like Dr. Death Steve Williams, he’s got all the talent in the world for a big guy, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to success in the states.

4: Nattie Niedhart: Best female worker in wrestling today, but she can’t get a goddamn push if Tensai was leaning on her bumper. Makes zero sense that the WWE would want her in the Divas mix when she can sell and is decent on the mic. Instead, they push lookers and greenies that they think will attract an audience.

3: Brock Lesnar: Monday night should have been the beginning of a huge angle for Lesnar. Instead, creative has written him out of the show for some reason. Makes zero sense. It’s understandable that he only has a limited amount of appearances until his contract is up, but damn, stop the teasing. Get the guy in a real program and not this one and done nonsense.

2: Dolph Ziggler: The WWE continues to drop the ball with Ziggler. Instead of having him beat Chris Jericho at the pay per view and start some buzz, they have him lose and then get a clean win on RAW in a match that was far from memorable. The beating Ziggler received from Jericho after the match continues the Rodney Dangerfield trend that poor kid has. No with zero momentum, his angle with Jericho is finished and he is worse for the wear. Now with no angle and an annoying manager that doesn’t help his gimmick, Ziggler is running out of options.

1: CM Punk: There was nothing wrong with his character before, but the WWE had to play around. This guy can make a great heel, but not the way the WWE is envisioning him. Punk should never have to force people to respect him. He does that in the ring. Punk should never have to be a bully. Where have the pipe bombs been this summer? John Cena’s promo this week was leagues better than anything Punk has done on the microphone this summer. A complete shame that the WWE can’t think of a cooler way to make a wiseass a bad guy.
