With Barbie’s elimination last episode Ramsey still needs to eliminate one more. In usual fashion two screens fall from the ceiling that displayed the final two as Ramsey announced them. The final two were Christina and Justin. Good decisions there, Ramsey. Dana didn’t deserve to be in the finals.
With that Ramsey told the two that they needed to start working on their menus for the final. Later on, Ramsey had other plans for them. They were sent to Las Vegas for a day of pampering poolside at Paris Las Vegas and for some advice on their menus by the Hell’s Kitchen sous chefs.
After that Ramsey gave them and their families tickets to see Penn and Teller. Of course, the chefs had a feeling that Ramsey wasn’t going to just give them the night off. They were right. After appearing as Teller’s feet for Penn and Teller’s sawing a person in half trick Ramsey dropped the ball on them: they had one hour to cook five dishes that would them be judged by five world class chefs. These dishes were a salad, a seafood appetizer, a ribeye, a fillet and a fish entrée. The crowd chose their sides and was really into it.
This challenge, as with previous years, each chef would present their dishes to a world class chef who would choose their favorite. The chef with three points wins. Ramsey wasn’t kidding when he said these chefs were world class. Up first for the salad was Francois Payard. He picked Justin’s. Next was for the seafood appetizer was Michel Richard, Christina’s idol. Turns out Christina’s idol hates cilantro (which she put in her dish). That must’ve cost her the point. To judge the fish entrée was Julian Serrano. Christina got the point and stayed in the game as well as getting another point for her ribeye by Ramsey’s right hand man and the one responsible for overseeing the opening of Gordon Ramsey Steak Stuart Gilles.
For the final point, Ramsey went all out for this judge. The one and only Wolfgang Puck. Everyone in the theater went nuts when he came out. After thinking about it, Puck chose Christina.
For the final surprise, both chefs had to choose their brigades. Who better than the people who were eliminated: Dana, Barbie, Clemenza, Robyn, Brian, Kimmie, Royce and Patrick. Christina chose first and chose, to nobody’s surprise, Dana. She then chose Patrick, Kimmie and Robyn. Clemenza was not happy at all to be chosen last. You can’t blame him.
You can’t blame his attitude back in the dorms either. He really wasn’t listening to what Justin was telling him and he looked like he didn’t care. Not to mention he was constantly yawning. The episode ended with him saying “I’m done†and leaving.
Clemenza not caring for Justin might be Justin’s undoing and according to next episode’s preview, Dana might be Christina’s undoing. Of course, these previews always exaggerate so the final dinner service might not go that bad. As for who has a higher chance of winning, Christina does even though Dana did say that her menu was very complicated. We’ll just have to see next time.
