Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: A Boomstick, a Wedding and a New Tag Team?

It would have been easy to forget about the wrestling this week on Impact with the wedding of Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan. Simply put, there wasn’t much of anything on the show. Regardless, there were some people who found their own time to shine.

5: Jay Bradley: After his win over Brian Cage last week, Bradley was face to face with the judges and after Tazz told him no, Bradley told the judges to “Open the door” and he’d take care of the rest. After Al Snow and Bruce Pritchard told him yes, Bradley and his “Boomstick” landed himself on the Impact Wrestling roster.

4: Velvet Sky: The fans still love her and with her win over Gail Kim, she holds on to her title shot against Knockouts Champion Tara. She’s still far from the most decorated female wrestler in the company, but she’s beautiful and she tries. If you think that’s not enough, you’re wrong. She’s grown in the ring over the last year.

3: Austin Aries and Robert Roode: These guys have the makings of a wonderful tag team. They would be amazing together. They work well in the ring and have chemistry on the microphone. Instead they keep squabbling over the World Title, when it’s painfully obvious that Jeff Hardy will be the champion for the near future. They could easily dethrone the current tag team champions Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez.

2: Frank Kazarian and Christopher Daniels: The two cut a fun promo where Kazarian called the fans “Butt Puppets” and took on James Storm and Jeff Hardy to start the show. Although they lost the match, Daniels’ decimation of Hardy afterward was all that mattered. With Daniels World Title shot next week, Daniels and his sidekick haven’t got a rub like this in months. It’s about time too. They are better on the microphone than they get credit for and are easily two of the best workers in the company.

1: Aces and Eights: Just when you thought the gang was going to be quiet this week, Tazz announces himself as the newest member of the group and they take out Bully Ray, Sting and the rest of the wedding party. Sure, it felt like it was robbed out of a scene from Monday Nitro, but it was still fun to watch.
