TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: A Little Bit of Everything

Ladies, Factions, Tag Teams and Super Heavyweights. This week’s episode of TNA Impact wrestling had a unique card. Although the storyline developments tarnished the wrestling action, several performers found a way to shine amid the nonsense.

5: The Aces and Eights: “The Club” lost a barrage of momentum when they added D’Lo Brown to their roster this week. Aside from the lack of sheer numbers, the group is nothing but a mediocre group of greenhorns, mid-carders and unused former stars at this point. In just one episode of Impact, the gang became another victim of terrible writing by TNA. After months of build-up, the luster is gone. Mr. Anderson’s win on Impact gives the team an advantage for Lethal Lockdown and perhaps that can give them a way to reclaim their edge. Anything less than something monumental at Lockdown will destroy this group for good. What a shame.

4: Le’d Tapa: Although she’s still uber green and not the polished specimen as her opponent last week Ivelise Felez, Tapa won a contract with company. That doesn’t say she doesn’t have potential though. With a ton of strength and a unique look, Tapa is the tough cookie the Knockouts Division has missed since the departure of Awesome Kong. The fans weren’t too happy about it though.

3: Samoa Joe and Magnus: It’s felt like forever that these guys were a tag team, but they looked super solid this week against Doc and Garret Bischoff. Although their Snapmare/Elbow Drop finish has always lacked punch, they have so many weapons in their arsenals that they can still keep your attention. Can a reunion be in the cards? Although this most likely a one-night thing, Joe especially continues to prove he belongs at the top of the card every night. For Magnus, this match affirms that he just belongs on the card.

2: Bully Ray/Jeff Hardy: These guys have no heat at all, but this will be a great match. Ray deserves this shot and Hardy has been a fighting champion, effectively washing away the remnants of his past mistakes. Expect these two to have a DVD collection type encounter.

1: Matt Morgan: The Blueprint made a statement this week. After he interfered in Impact’s opening match between Austin Aries and TNA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Hardy, the world knew. Morgan is ready to finally make the move he should have years ago. With his massive foot to Hardy’s face, Morgan is back in the World Title picture. He knows what he wants now. But more importantly, he knows what he deserves.
