WWE RAW Power Rankings: Slap Happy

The last RAW before Summerslam featured some entertaining matchups and enough storyline to fill the gaps on what appears to be one of the best Summerslam cards in years.

Check out our weekly RAW Power Rankings to find out who has the most to gain this weekend at RAW signature summer pay-per-view.

5: Jimmy and Jey Uso: The matchup between the Usos and Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro proves that Tag Team wrestling in the WWE is not dead. Although it’s on life support, you can see a glimmer of hope when the Usos are out there. The fans have quickly responded t them and behind more strength than you’d expect and plenty of high-flying goodness, the Usos are without a doubt going to be tag team champions one day.

4: Randy Orton: A solid win over another talented worker in Damien Sandow, Orton, much like Daniel Bryan, has more momentum now than he has in years. But unlike Bryan, Orton hasn’t cemented his presence at the top of the card with a promo that establishes his motives and puts him over even more. Until then, he’ll only be halfway across the ring from the WWE title. While Orton has the resume and fan support to warrant another WWE title reign, as it currently stands, Orton doesn’t look primed for a particularly long run.

3: The Shield: The threesome’s promo in the show’s first hour was stellar. Ambrose and Rollins are multi-talented performers who have long careers ahead of them, while Reigns continues to develop as well. Ambrose’s part in the promo, where he shot down CM Punk, John Cena and the ghost of Andre the Giant wasn’t exactly a pipe bomb, but it continues to fuel the notion that Ambrose could belong in the same category as those performers. While it seems almost impossible now, you have to love what Ambrose brings to the microphone and ring.

2: CM Punk: The former WWE Champion made a big time statement, thanks to a camera and a steel chair. The crowd went bonkers. Even though there’s no title on the line and this is a straight-up grudge match, it’ll be a memorable one.

1: Daniel Bryan: Regardless of how much garbage Vince McMahon talks about him or what Brad Maddox does to him, Bryan continues to ride a massive wave of momentum into Summerslam. Behind excellent in-ring work and the support of the fans, Bryan is no longer the underdog to win the WWE Championship this weekend. That’s not to say he’s a shoe-in to dethrone John Cena as champ, but much stranger things have happened than a possible Bryan WWE title reign. A wonderful showing on Miz TV may be the thing that pushes Bryan even closer to the WWE title.
