WWE RAW Power Rankings: Hostages Taken, Beatings Given

Away from the silly segments and wasteful promo, there was some solid wrestling action this week on Monday Night RAW.

Check out our weekly RAW Power Rankings to see who wasn’t throwing terrible hip tosses or wasting the audience’s time participating in Survivor Series rematches that no one cared about in the first place.

5: The Shield: After Roman Reigns’ performance at Survivor Series and the team’s big win over the Tag Team Champions and Rey Mysterio this week on RAW, you have to think they have a little bit more gas in their tanks. While Ambrose and Rollins are in desperate need of some competition, Reigns has carved himself a nice role as a young bruiser.

4: The Wyatt Family: The trio continues to hang with the best workers in the company, the Family made sure they made an impact on RAW, taking Daniel Bryan hostage at the end of their match.

3: CM Punk/Daniel Bryan: The modern day Rock and Sock connection, “The Beard and The Best” had another great TV match with The Wyatt Family this week. This angle is money right now, even if there is very little story. It’s in the company’s best interest to continue to develop the emotional side of this budding war.

2: Randy Orton: Fresh from his title defense at Survivor Series over The Big Show, Orton showed some courage when he stood up to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon this week. Still a heel, it’s nice to see him being more a cocky heel and less a weasel. His “nobody can take that way from me” rant this week was one of his stronger shoots in recent memory. The John Cena/Orton feud gives “The Viper” even more momentum. Make no mistake, Orton has rekindled his star power.

1: John Cena: This dude came back from serious elbow surgery and absolutely provided a spark. The thought of a unification bout between Cena and Orton quickly became a reality when Triple H announced a unification TLC match at TLC and immediately puts Cena back at the top of the card. The thought of Cena being the sole champion again is an interesting one and despite the fact that he’s doing more talking in the ring lately, Cena looks poised to become the company’s top face again.
