Seems like the creative minds in TNA really enjoy RAW.
The current MVP storyline feels “borrowed†from the WWE’s current Authority angle so much that it’s a joke. While the wrestling was decent this week on Impact, it’s almost too silly to take serious at times.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who made it out of this week’s Impact with the fans respect amid another wacky night of wild booking and boring story lines.
Honorable Mention: Magnus: Now that the “old†Magnus is back, what does that really mean. While it was cool to see a more heel than weasel Magnus and the addition of Bram does make him even more formidable, his current status in the company is still completely up in the air. Only in TNA can a super recent former World Champion lose steam so fast and be forced to rebuild.
5: The Wolves Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards: The TNA Tag Team Champions need some competition. Their match against one another this week shows off their technical ability and continues their drama with MVP, but with few tag teams that they can work with and The Bromans currently dealing with The Menagerie, The Wolves are howling all by themselves.
4: The Menagerie: These guys are beyond silly. TNA’s answer to The Wyatt Family, they have a beautiful valet and a cool gimmick, but they lack the polish to be taken seriously. Simply put, Knux shouldn’t be the leader of any faction. Despite the fact they continue to get TV time, don’t expect much from them moving forward but silly sideshow antics and meaningless wins.
3: Samoa Joe: After returning last week, Joe proved his mettle with solid performances in two matches. While he won’t be World Champion anytime soon, Joe continues to be a more than solid upper mid-carder and capable supporting player. Simply put, Joe needs a real angle. With Eric Young feuding with MVP, Joe would benefit immensely from an angle with either Kenny King or Bobby Lashley.
2: MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley: These guys were in control most of the show, wreaking havoc, but the show didn’t get any better. So far, the decision to turn MVP heel has proven to be a disaster. At this point, even in the face of their loss against Samoa Joe, Bully Ray, Austin Aries and Eric Young, it’s hard to get excited. Great heels draw heat when the fans want to see them lose. That’s just not the case here. No one in the Impact Zone appears to care what happens to this faction.
1: Eric Young: He’s number one this week simply because he’s champion and he’s leading the crusade against MVP. The company’s most entertaining performer, EY, like Samoa Joe, needs some real competition.
