Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Is Anton Next?

It is finally time for the teams to come up with their menus in this week’s episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” That also means the drama is about to increase a little bit.

There was no challenge in this episode, but it did start with two rappers rapping about how each team must create a menu for Red Menu vs. Blue Menu. Despite the applause from the chefs that rap sounded like “The Fat Boys” at their worst which is saying a lot. Joy even said “that rap wouldn’t have won a freestyle battle for sure.”

The Blue Team worked pretty well at creating their menu. Rochelle not putting her opinion in may not have hurt the menu, but it did make her look like she’s not leader material. The Red Team had some major arguments about their menu. Everything Anton suggested was shot down by Melanie. The Red even had the gall to put fried chicken on the menu even after Scott reminded them of the disaster last time it was on the menu.

When it came time for the teams to present their dishes to Ramsay, the Red team did pretty well, even with the fried chicken. Ramsay also reminded them that he didn’t want a repeat of the last occasion they made fried chicken. For the Blue team, the only downside was Rochelle’s crab cake, which was burned on one side. Ramsay asked Rochelle for her glasses and even put them on. Truthfully, he looked really good in those glasses despite them being girly glasses.

Rochelle’s bad day kept going when she broke down and went to have a good cry in the dorms. Again, she is no longer prepared for this competition. She’ll be gone soon.

Dinner service went pretty well, although there were obviously some drawbacks.

The Red Team started really slow because a lot of people ordered from the Bleu Menu. When they did start getting orders in Aton started with serving three portions of risotto when only two were ordered. Melanie later gave Ramsay scallops that were soaked in the sauce they were cooked in. This is exactly how Anton showed her how to cook them. It looked more like Anton sabotaging than Melanie cooking wrong. Although the undercooked scallops she sent out for Executive Chef of “Montage” Craig Strong were her fault. Giving a VIP chef any undercooked food is embarrassing. Things got even more embarrassing when Melanie found out they ran out of scallops. Anton had to beg the Blue team for scallops.

The Blue Team started off strong but faltered as the night went on. Richard sent up a crab cake that was cold in the middle. He even said “I’m not sending it out cold.” He then proceeded to cook the new cake in the same oil as the last one. For someone who says he has the most experience she should’ve known to put new oil in a new pan. At entrees Gabriel put up a seriously undercooked NY strip. After serving a perfect one, Gabriel once again made an undercooked NY strip. This was after Richard got yelled at for not putting up garnish fast enough. Although he did bring up one Brussels sprout for garnish a little later. How he only put in one Brussels sprout this late into service is a mystery. Rochelle had to even take over garnish.

Obviously the Red Team won, even though both finished service. The Blue put Richard and Gabriel up for elimination with Richard getting eliminated. Also, Ramsay asked Melanie, Joy and Kashia which one of them will be going to the Blue Team. Melanie is now on the Blue Team.

Richard was on a downward spiral for a while now so his elimination was inevitable. Gabriel and Rochelle will be going soon, too. Jason once again looks like the favorite to win as well as Joy. Anton’s ego is what’s going to get him eliminated next week according to the preview.
