WWE Battleground Power Rankings: Pre-Summerslam Letdown

John Cena is still WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Brock Lesnar and Sting were nowhere to be found in what was ultimately a passable WWE pay per view experience.

Check out our WWE Battleground Power Rankings to see who made it out of the summer pay per view with the most to brag about.

Honorable Mention: AJ Lee: Her win over Paige at Battleground was perhaps the biggest win of her WWE career. But now, with her biggest threat out of the way, where does she go from here?

5: The Usos: Luke Harper and Erik Rowan pushed the Usos to the limit in easily one of the best opening matches on a pay per view in quite some time. Make no mistake, Harper and Rowan will be Tag Team Champions eventually, but The Usos are too damn over as faces for them to lose the straps. With Summerslam next, you can expect another rematch. The only question is, how do you top a two-out-of-three falls match?

4: Chris Jericho: His win over Bray Wyatt is great for Jericho’s short-term future, who, as a result of his performance at Battleground, appears ready to stay with the company for the next few months. With Daniel Bryan’s injury keeping him out of action indefinitely, Jericho will be asked to carry some weight in the middle of the card. With Wyatt in need of a great rebound match, expect Jericho to have his hand’s full once again at Summerslam.

3: The Miz: The new Intercontinental Champion, The Miz needed the win at Battleground terribly. Now with his movie complete, The Miz can now do what he does best, shoot his mouth and develop other performers. The only question is, who does he defend the belt against first?

2: Roman Reigns: Spears for everyone. That was what the main event of Battleground could have been called. Still a youngin’, Reigns will have plenty of opportunities to win the title, but this time out, proved he could hang with three of the best workers in the history of the company.

1: John Cena: It looked like he may lose the belt at a few points, but Cena is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. But for how much longer? With Brock Lesnar’s return being written about for months, who will Cena have to defend against?
