NXT Coverage: Is it Kenta and Devitt Time Yet?

It’s just a matter of time until Kenta and Prince Devitt begin to impress on NXT, but until then, it’s been pretty miserable. Continuing to depend on WWE talent to work with NXT performers, the WWE can’t even do that right anymore.

Eva Marie vs. Bayley? Are you serious? Talk about a waste of time. Easily one of the worst mismatches in NXT history, Bayley tried her hardest to turn that lemon into a rosebud.

Speaking of Rosebuds, Adam Rose’s appearance this week was fun, but the main event of Rose and Sami Zayn vs. WWE washouts Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel was far from entertaining. Sure three of them can perform in the ring and one is funny, but with zero intriguing storyline to bring it all together, it was a waste of time.

Matches:

#1 Contender Tag Team Tournament: Jason Jordan and Ty Dillinger vs. Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore: Jordan and Dillinger worked hard to keep Cassady with strikes, submissions, quick tags and duplex variations, but they couldn’t put him away. Once Amore got tagged in, Dillinger nailed him with a wicked Super Kick, but didn’t go for the cover. Jordan continued to work over Amore, but Cassady protected his parter in the corner and quickly nailed Jordan with the Big Boot behind the referee’s back to allow an nearly unconscious Amore to get the win.

CJ Parker vs. Xavier Woods: Just a boring match with zero pace. Just an exchange of moves with no emotion. Woods added some spice to the lastluster encounter with a lovely jumping Downward Spiral to a downed Parker and followed it up with the Honor Roll. Woods nearly won with a massive Elbow, but Parker ultimately got the win with a Spinning modified Death Valley Driver for the win.

Bayley vs. Eva Marie: Bayley was forced to wrestle in first gear with the far-less experienced Eva Marie. After a few minutes of back and forth, Bayley won with her signature Belly-to Bayley Suplex.

Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel vs. Adam Rose and Sami Zayn: Kidd and Gabriel destroyed Rose for most of the match, using strikes and quick tags to keep the advantage. Zayn changed the match when he got in, taking both of them on the outside with a Flipping Suicide Dive. After Rose jumped to the outside and took out Kidd and Gabriel as well, Zayn got the win with the Big Boot in the corner on Gabriel.
