WWE RAW Coverage: A Sleepy Go Home Show Before Night of Champions

The fans wanted WWE World heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, but instead, they got a lot of more of Paul Heyman. Luckily for the WWE Universe, Heyman continues to prove he’s a one-of-a-kind entertainer. Playing more mind games with John Cena, Heyman continues to tease a possible heel turn for the WWE star and make it an even more intriguing notion.

Heyman told Cena he can’t beat Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions unless he goes to the dark side. Seeing Cena so heated up has made for some good television.

Simply put, Cena as a Heyman guy would be a blast, even if it never happens. Just a tease of it has been fun though.

Away from that, the go-home show for Night of Champions was an absolute bore. Closing the show out with the Mark Henry/Alexander Rusev feud? That’s a joke. From predictable teasers to Great Khali’s participation (for lack of a better term) in one of the main segments involving Cena and Heyman, this week’s RAW completely failed to satisfy.

Matches:

Chris Jericho vs. Kane: A lengthy back and forth encounter full of routine spots and maneuvers. Things got spicy however once Kane exposed one of the turnbuckles and eventually ran into it, allowing Jericho to win with a Rollup.

Bo Dallas vs. Jack Swagger: Another bore as Swagger countered the Bo-Dog and finished off Dallas with the Patriot Lock.

AJ Lee and Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella and Divas Champion Paige: After Nikki Bella took out Lee on the outside, Paige nailed Brie Bella with the Rampage for the win. After the bell, Nikki hit the Rack Buster on her helpless sister.

The Big Show vs. Bray Wyatt w/ Luke Harper and Erick Rowan: Show was in control until Harper and Rowan interfered and got the match thrown out.

WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso and United States Champion Sheamus vs. Goldust and Stardust and Antonio Cesaro: All six competitors dealt out signature maneuvers in a sneak peak of two title matches for Night of Champions. Although Sheamus stole the show with a Splash to the outside, it was the Usos who got the win with the Top Rope Splash after Cesaro took out Sheamus with The Neutralizer.

Cameron vs. Naomi: A bore that ended with a Naomi Head Scissors-type submission victory.

R-Truth and Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow and The Miz: Ziggler got the win with the Zig-Zag in an otherwise meaningless match.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins: The match of the night as the two youngsters traded signature moves and near-falls.Reigns ultimately got the win after he countered the Curb Stomp with the Spear.
