WWE RAW Power Rankings: Cena Ready for Night of Champions

A beefy card and every champion in action was not enough to set the last episode of RAW before Night of Champions apart. Simply put, it was pretty damn boring.

Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who picked up some much-needed momentum going into Night of Champions.

Honorable Mention: Cesaro: After some time on the losing end of several matches, Cesaro looks primed to win the United States title. Simply put, while Sheamus is a marketable talent, Cesaro could be the guy that defends the title on every TV show and brings some prestige back to a now dormant United States Championship scene.

5: AJ Lee/Paige: Lee wants to get her hands on Paige, badly. With the chemistry these two have, their match at Night of Champions has plenty of potential. Add Nikki Bella into the mix and this will be one of the best Divas title matches in quite some time.

4: Goldust and Stardust: They are weird, but they work together well and get more of a legitimate response from the audience than the Usos. As talented as the current Tag Team Champions are, it might be more enjoyable to see them reclaim their titles than actually defend them. For that reason, it makes a lot of sense that the Rhodes boys could leave Night of Champions with the WWE Tag Team titles.

3: John Cena: Ready for another shot at WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, Cena locked Paul Heyman in his dressing took until he got the answers he wanted. Decimated in their last encounter, can Cena step up and reclaim the belt? Either way, he’s found a way to be entertaining and stay relevant without the title, something the WWE needs him to do with Lesnar’s part-time schedule.

2: Paul Heyman: With Brock Lesnar’s part-time status limiting how much drama there can be with the WWE World Heavyweight title match at Night of Champions, Heyman has done a masterful job of playing mind games with Cena. Although Lesnar has popped up at the right times, it is Heyman who has done the majority of the heavy lifting outside of the ring.

1: Brock Lesnar: Sure, Cena is pissed, but Lesnar wasted no time this week on RAW German Suplexing him, again. There hasn’t been a more dominant WWE Champion in years and it’ll take a lot more than some punches on the outside of the ring to put “The Beast” away.
