WWE Night of Champions Power Rankings: Lesnar Bites Curb, Gets His Attitude Adjusted, But Keeps Ticking

Seth Rollins may be a turd for getting the main event of Night of Champions thrown out, but it was still a great show regardless, with three new champions being crowned and the return of Dean Ambrose among many of the highlights.

Check out our Night of Champions Power Rankings to see the shocking new champions and surprise victories in what turned out to be a much-better pay per view than expected.

Honorable Mention: The Miz: A surprising win thanks to his stunt double Damien Sandow, The Miz is once-again Intercontinental Champion. But where does he go from here? A former WWE Champion, there isn’t much left for The Miz to accomplish in the company. A solid heel, there will always be a place for him in the mid-card, but you have to wonder if the IC title would be better fitted around someone else’s waist.

Ladies Night: The three-way match for the Divas title was more than filler, AJ Lee and Paige put on a show, but Bella helped with some solid maneuvers as Lee won the belt for the third time in her career. Although it’s not in the same league as Trish Stratus and Lita, The Lee/Paige rivalry is one of the best female feuds in years.

You’ll See Him on This List Soon Again: Dean Ambrose: The crowd went nuts when he hit the ring at Night of Champions and it’s only a matter of time until he finally gets his hands back on Seth Rollins.

5: Alexander Rusev: A win over Mark Henry may not seem like too big of a deal, but it’s another former World Heavyweight Champion that Rusev has made submit. Although he’s still rough around the edges, it’s hard to deny his grit, athleticism and Super Kick/Accolade combination. What could be next for him, a feud with Sheamus over the United States Championship?

4: Stardust and Goldust: The Usos played a huge role in adding validity to the Tag Team division, but the charisma and in-ring ability of Goldust and Stardust takes the division into a cool new direction. With The Usos, as well as even the Ascension eager for a crack at those newly-acquired titles, Stardust and Goldust are sure to be a busy tandem.

3: Sheamus: Every time you think Sheamus has met his match, the Celtic Warrior finds another gear. At Night of Champions, Sheamus looked like Tommy Dreamer circa 1996 in a war with Raven. Taking a crazy beating from Cesaro, Sheamus asked for more and eventually got the win with the Brogue Kick. Simply put, he’s one of the most underrated performers in the company.

2: John Cena: He brought it to Lesnar at Night of Champions and didn’t have to betray his fans to do it. When you talk about one of the greatest “good guys” in WWE history, Cena is easily on the top of that list. Although LEsnar beat the crap out of him for most of the match, Cena was able to hold on and hit his moves when they counted. If not for interference from Seth Rollins, Cena may be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

1: Brock Lesnar: Dominant again at Night of Champions, Lesnar was pushed to the limit by Cena, but still managed to hold on to his title. With plenty of things unresolved between Lesnar and Cena however, expect another chapter in one of the best feuds in recent WWE history.
