‘Mushroom 11’ Preview Thoughts

The first level of Untame’s “Mushroom 11″ is as unique a platform experience as you can get.

Sure, you’ve played similar feeling games before, LocoRoco” and the recent Playsation Vita sleeper hit, “Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack,” but never quite like this. Although it’s just as fun as those games, the ambient music, powered by The Future Sound of London, post-apocalyptic setting and sheer addictive nature of the game make it one of most-eagerly anticipated independent games of 2015.

Rolling around a fungus or erasing one sounds like a chore, but the unique gameplay in “Mushroom 11″ is the type that’ll have you saying,”one more time and then I’ll stop.” Easy on the eyes and ears, it’s a game you can hop in and out of at a moments notice as well, making it perfect at work or on the go.

Although the first chapter only provides about 20-minutes of gameplay the first time, the session is a polished and bug-free one that fully immersed you in its world. If this chapter was indeed created as a tease for the future, Untame has done an excellent job of fueling the anticipation.
