This episode of the “The Walking Dead†goes back to a two-character plot line that again is a major snooze fest. With little dialogue and vague flashbacks, “Consumed†is an episode that has little to offer- even if it focused on Daryl and Carol.
Not only was “Consumed†a major drag, but it was another throw-away episode, similar to the one that involved Beth. The more “The Walking Dead†gets away from their focus towards the group as a whole, the more the show loses luster. You would think that a new show mind the likes of Scott Gimple would gear away from dull plot lines that focus on one or two characters in one episode. Instead we get the same old song and dance that ties several plot holes together that would all play out towards the season finale.
“Consumed†took us on a journey that involved both Daryl and Carol who follow the people responsible for Beth’s capture. There are several flashbacks that involve Carol from the moment she was kicked out from the group by Rick to her Rambo moment where she saved the group in the first episode of this season. While several of those scenes did attract some attention, it was not enough to keep you interested as the episode went on.
