TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: BDC Turns TNA Upside Down

With four solid matches, plenty of offense and the promise of a great show next week thanks to “Feast or Fired,” Impact Wrestling continues to garner consistency on its new home on Destination America.

Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who was showcased in a surprisingly accessible and interesting episode of Impact.

“Whoa” Moment of the Night: While Samoa Joe’s submission win over Kurt Angle got our attention, Eric Young’s domination of Bobby Roode- the exclamation point being a Spike Piledriver on a steel chair, was no joke.

Honorable Mention: Ethan Carter III: His feud with Jeremy Borash is a puzzling one, but it continues to play a role in Carter’s drama with Rockstar Spud. Although he’s stuck in the mid-card right now, Carter III is a few “statement” matches away from a serious single push.

5: Kurt Angle: Angle doesn’t tap out often, but he had a solid match with Samoa Joe this week on Impact that, if anything, furthers the strength and potential of the Beat Down Clan. Right in the middle of the company’s biggest feud, Angle still matters, even if his star has dimmed considerably. Watching his multiple German Suplexes against Joe this week proved it yet again.

4: The Hardy Boys: Anyone that thoughts this team was done got a rude awakening this week as they had the best match on the card with The Wolves. With a Tag Team title shot against James Storm and Abyss next week, The Hardy Boys may end up with gold around their waists. Still athletic, still charismatic, The Hardy Boys involvement in the TNA Tag Team division is a testament to the depth in their singles divisions and an investment in their youth in the Tag Team Division.

3: Awesome Kong: Her eventual match with Havoc will set the scene for her shot against whoever is the holder of the Knockout title. Once the title is around her waist, which it will be, the Knockouts Division will never be the same.

2: The Beat Down Clan: MVP’s new faction, The Beat Down Clan, has plenty of momentum. At the same time, they have little really holding them together aside from the fact that they are all heels and will listen to MVP. Sure, Kenny King is entertaining and Low-Ki, the new X-Division Champion- and Samoa Joe are two of the best workers in the business, they need to continue to dominate to further their street cred. The possibility of adding Eric Young also makes the BDC a faction you don’t want to mess with.

1: Bobby Lashley: The ability to be his own man is a big shift for him- it’s one that will go a long way in making this run as World Heavyweight Champion much different than the last.
