This episode of the “Walking Dead†had flashes of a David Lynch movie and a promo from deranged WWE superstar Bray Wyatt.
“What happened and What’s Going On†will make you ask that exact question the first ten minutes of this episode. There were shots of a house painting, a photo of twin brothers and several locations that resembled the opening credits of this show. What was great about this episode was that it was artistically shot and sad at the same time as another key character unfortunately gets killed.
The episode starts with a funeral, but not for who you think and that was the strength of this episode. It tricked you in ways that is very beneficial to the show. Credit writer Scott Gimple- he certainly outsmarted the audience. Now that the group is back together, it is obvious that they are broken. Rick’s beard finally resembles him being part of a zombie Apocalypse, Glenn feels loss as he should, so does Noah, Michonne is clearly frustrated with the survival strategies the group continues to take that end up with the same results and Tyrese continues to be honorable and does right by keeping everyone safe. Unfortunately for him, his time runs out which results in a sad finish to this episode.
