Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Lacking

With a complete lack of flair, this week’s Impact wrestling was the weakest episode on Destination America yet. While the card was a decent one, the lack of unpredictability ultimately did the show in.

Check out this week’s Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who left this past week’s Impact with a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Honorable Mention: Mr. Anderson: His helping of Rockstar Spud has added another level to Spud’s feud with Ethan Carter III. At the same time, it’ll be great for Tyrus to take on a seasoned veteran the likes of Anderson, helping to fill out the mid-card with decent bouts. Shaving off Tyrus’ Mohawk on this week’s Impact definitely made for some fun TV. At the same time, you have to wonder when Anderson will get his next real push.

5: The Wolves: While The Revolution has the Tag Team titles, The Wolves continue to gather momentum for another run with the straps. Easily the best tag team in TNA today, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards continue to out-work their opponents every week and it’s only a matter of time until they are back on top. However, they’ll have to find a way to get past The Revolution’s numbers game. Perhaps their newfound allegiance with Matt Hardy could help in that situation.

4: Awesome Kong: She’s not the TNA Knockouts Champion, but her taking out Taryn Terrell and confronting Gail Kim makes for some good action in the Knockouts division. Make no mistake, a three-way bout with this competitors will be a war.

3: Kurt Angle: His performance in the 20-Man battle royal was proof that the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion can still perform. Unable to beat the numbers of the BDC, Angle will have to look for another way to a title shot.

2: The Beat Down Clan: Although they almost squandered a great opportunity to earn shot at Lashley’s TNA World Heavyweight title and looked less than stellar in terms of communication, they are still by far the most dominant faction in the company. MVP’s shot at Lashley this week will be MVP’s final chance to get the title after almost a year of failed attempts. However, it’ll be interesting how the group continues to function with the loss of their enforcer, Samoa Joe.

1: Bobby Lashley: He’s the most dominant champion in TNA history needs some competition and he may have gotten it in the face of Kurt Angle. While MVP is next in line for a shot against him, Angle will be his next serious challenge, unless the numbers game of the BDC plays a part in Lashley losing the title. Regardless of how well he has fared against the competition in TNA, Lashley has never faced a technical wrestler the likes of Angle. Can he keep his belt after locking horns with the Olympic hero? Or even better, can he get past the BDC first?
