WWE programming hit all-time low this week as Wiz Khalifa’s performance was the perfect example of the promotion’s weak writing and double standards.
If the bang-bang format, constant camera angle changing and match-stacking wasn’t a huge indication of the lack of creativity on this week’s show, Khalifi’s “performance†hurt the WWE’s credibility big time.
WWE official Triple H told Stone Cold on his podcast a few weeks ago that Chyna would never get in the WWE Hall of Fame because of her career in form, but Khalifa, who has a sex tape of his own, can rap about white women giving him “Becky†on the promotion’s PG show.
Add in a slew of weak matches, a horrid Sting vignette and the continued misuse of Daniel Bryan and RAW was a waste of time that not even Paul Heyman, Bray Wyatt and John Cena could fix.
Matches:
Daniel Bryan vs. Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett: A quick win that saw Bryan counter the Winds of Change into a Crucifix for a near-fall before he finished off Barrett with the Knee Plus. After the match however, Barrett nailed Bryan with the Bullhammer Elbow. Dean Ambrose soon made his way to the ring and took out Barrett before his match began.
Dean Ambrose vs. Stardust: While Stardust hit me interesting offense, including a Dragonscrew on the apron, Ambrose got the win with the Dirty Deeds. After the match, Wade Barrett , Daniel Bryan, Luke Harper and Dolph Ziggler all hit the ring and beat on each other, before R-Truth once again stole the IC title. Add in a flurry of finishers and it was certainly an action-packed segment.
The Big Show and Kane vs. Erick Rowan and Ryback: Rowan got the win after Big Show accidentally hit Kane with the KO Punch. After the match Stephanie McMahon sent both behemoths home for the night.
AJ Lee w/ Paige vs. Summer Rae w/Eva Marie and Cameron: Lee got the quick win with Black Widow.
United States Champion Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. Curtis Axel: Rusev waste don time and got the win with a Super Kick and The Accolade. After the match, Rusev talked smack about the United States and Cena hit the right and choked him out with the STF, twice.
WWE Tag Team Champions Tyson Kidd and Antonio Cesaro w/Natalya Neidhart vs. Big E. Langston and Xavier Woods w/Kofi Kingston: In an anti-climatic waste of time, Woods Rolled up Kidd for the unexpected win.
Naomi w/Jimmy and Jey Uso vs. Natalya Neidhart w/Tyson Kidd and Cesaro: Naomi got the surprising win with the Rear View.
Los Matadores w/ El Torito vs. Jimmy and Jey Uso w/Naomi: After interference from torito, Fernando hit Jimmy and rolled him up for the win.
Seth Rollins and Randy Orton w/Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury vs. Roman Reigns:Â Ironically, Rollins sent J & J security to the back early in the match as Reigns dominated against Rollins. Not so ironically, Orton then refused to tag into the match, allowing Reigns to hit the Spear for the win. After the match, Orton beat on Rollins and hit him with a Clothesline and a ton of strikes on the outside before beating on him with a chair and finishing him off with his elevated DDTwith Rollins’ legs on the guard rail and the RKO through the announce table.
