Review Fix chats with Nawlege 405 and Solomis of the Oklahoma City rap duo 832, who discuss their new album, “The RAP-Ture.” Inspired by greats the likes of Bone Thugs N Harmony as well as Outkast, they have a familiar sound but push the envelope with real lyrics, anything but the pop-friendly “booze and bitches†tracks heard on the radio every day.
Review Fix: Most rappers today talk about think of excess, drinking, women, money. You guys do thinks a bit different. Why?
Solomis: You already said it, every song is the same song and we believe that people are tired of hearing the same song, there are other things going on in this world that doesn’t get addressed and people have the right to know and shouldn’t be refrained from it.
Nawlege 405: We want our lyrics to have meaning and our mission is to make others think different other than money, cars, and clothes.


Review Fix: What is your creative process like?
Nawlege 405: We listen to hundreds of beats and once we find that right beat, the lyrics naturally flow the concept is right, if everything is perfect between the both of us, we know that particular track is the one and we’ll record it almost immediately.
Review Fix: What did you guys learn from this album?
Nawlege 405: How deep my mind state can go and be able to put it on a song.
Solomis: I learned that you can truly get better the more experience you obtain in this game, I have yet to tell my whole story because it took me until this album to truly open up my world for people to hear and that’s another reason why I feel this was our greatest piece of work yet.
Review Fix: What do you think you have to do to get to the next level?
Nawlege 405: Tour!
Solomis: That’s definitely a must and also do more networking and building relationships.
Review Fix: What do you think is holding you back and how do you plan to address it?
Nawlege 405: I think what’s holding us back the most is currency, we need more of it.
Solomis:I believe it’s knowledge of the game that’s holding us back currency is a big issue but it’s also a small pawn in this threshold called “The Music Industry†the best way for us to address this is build relationships with those guys that are up there so that we can pull ourselves up to that level.


Review Fix: What song on this album do you think is most indicative of what you guys represent?
832: “The Crown†because of how we expressed what we are and what we are here to do to reach that pedestal.
Review Fix: What inspires you guys?
Nawlege 405: Honestly, living life inspires us, we’re brothers so we grew up together and got a lot of things in common that we share with each other even as adults and our common interest mixed with our individuality helps us apply that with our music.
Review Fix: Is it hard to be in a group with your brother?
Nawlege 405: Not at all we are best friends it’s usually uncommon but we’ve been thru a lot where all we had was each other so this is a bond that can’t be broken.
Review Fix: What performers do you guys look up to the most? Why?
Solomis:Bone Thugs N Harmony because they brought an element to the table that cannot be reversed and it became a standard in Hip Hop even today, Outkast because they were so different no one could put a genre on them if they weren’t successful at it- the more different they got the more successful they became. Nas because he’s Nas, he’s just one of the greatest, if not, the greatest period.Review Fix: What was it like to work with Juju?
Review Fix: What was it like to work with Juju?
Solomis: It was like it was meant to be when he sang it was like he read our minds and knew what we wanted to say and what we expected of him. Juju being a part of this album was truly a blessing and this album would not be half of what it was if it weren’t for him.
Review Fix: What’s next?
832: We are going back to the studio, but we are looking to tour this summer to make more money mainly in the south region, but we will continue to build our brand so we can tour the nation, then overseas.
