With three solid X-Division contests and two TNA World Heavyweight title matches, this past week’s episode of Impact was a solid one that ironically was the best wrestling show on a crowded TV scene on Wednesday.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who left with the TNA World Heavyweight title and who is vying for a shot at the newly vacated X-Division title.
Honorable Mention: Taryn Terrell: She’s putting Awesome Kong through hell in order to get a shot at the Knockouts title. Becoming a better heel every week, Terrell and the Dollhouse continue to become more relevant every week.
5: Rockstar Spud: His match with Kurt Angle proved that Spud can hang in the ring with one of the best workers in the world. No longer X-Division Champion, where does Spud go from here, especially with no secondary title? At the same time, no one ever thought Spud could ever me this solid, so even with no title, Spud’s gotta like what his future looks like.
4: Bram: His win over Crimson was one of the biggest of his young career and hopefully one that gets him back on track.
3: Ethan Carter III: He’s due. It’s his time. So when will ECIII finally get his shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship? Will Dixie Carter play a role? Who knows at this point, but either way, you can rest assured that ECIII will have a great summer.
2: Austin Aries: His match with Kurt Angle once again proved his World Champion pedigree, but it wasn’t enough to get him the title. Regardless, with Bobby Roode by his side, Aries is still one of the most important pieces on the TNA roster.
1: Kurt Angle: In two solid matches, Angle once again showed the world that even at the end of his career, he’s still a dominant performer capable of having fantastic matches.
