With a new World Heavyweight Champion, Tag Team Champions and more drama with Jeff Jarrett, Impact Wrestling continues to be the best “wrestling†show on Wednesday nights.
Check out this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling Rankings to see why the show continues to find its groove even if the ratings and fan support don’t quite show the same picture.
Honorable Mention: Kurt Angle: He put Ethan Carter III over and helped the promotion big time when they were first picked up by Destination America. While his future is uncertain, his legend is firmly established.
5: Taryn Terrell: She’s still Knockouts champion and her Cutter looks better every match. Tougher than she looks and growing steam as a heel, she’s one of the best female performers in the world. Her eventual match-up with Gail Kim, however will be where she can forge her legacy.
4: The Wolves: Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards have been amazing since coming to TNA and their best-of-five series with Austin Aries and Bobby Roode was some of the best wrestling in TNA in years. Now four-time Tag Team champions, it’ll be interesting to see who they take on next.
3: The Beat Down Clan: With Hernandez in their ranks and The Rising now taken care of, what’s next for MVP and the rest of the BDC? With Ethan Carter III now TNA World Heavyweight Champion, will MVP take a shot at the title or is this faction going to be relegated to the mid-card?
2: Jeff Jarrett: Hell has frozen over. Global Force Wrestling’s “merger†with TNA is an interesting one. Considering the fact that Impact Wrestling is on its last leg and GFW hasn’t firmly established itself by any means, this could be a plea by both parties to draw buzz for their ailing promotions. Or it could be the start of something wonderful.
1: Ethan Carter III: His win over Kurt Angle is the beginning of a new era in TNA and quite possibly its last one. With Pro Wrestling Illustrated dropping its world title designation from Impact Wrestling, the belt has never meant so little. It’s up to ECIII to change that or sink with the drowning ship.
