Review Fix:Â What was the inspiration for this project?
Terri Mateer: I wanted to combine my passion for basketball and performing to help people.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Mateer: It’s ongoing. It’s always. It rests then ramps up again. It’s …just how I am.
Review Fix: What makes this different or special?
Mateer: I think it’s because the audience feels like they are hanging out with me on a basketball court.
Review Fix: What did you learn about yourself through this process?
Mateer: That I am not alone, that I’m funny and I’m married to an incredible guy.
Review Fix: How does it feel to be a part of something like this?
Mateer: Very cool. I am so thankful that I was asked back to perform the show again.
Review Fix: What are your ultimate goals for this production and for the future?
Mateer: I’d like to get it into colleges and high schools for Title IX Programming. I’d like some day to work with a director…that has a point of view that might shape it in a…in a direction I have not thought of.
Review Fix: What do you think your audiences will enjoy the most?
Mateer: The thrill of not knowing where it’s going, that it’s all over the place, educational, emotional, funny and that they leave inspired.
Review Fix: What’s next?
Mateer: I think I wanna write a play with 4 people in it…or 5.
