The draft was a historic moment but chaos in the ring definitely stole the show live this week on Tuesday Night Smackdown. Competitors like Becky Lynch and Kevin Owens just couldn’t wait until this Sunday for Battleground as they decided to take action early, which was awesome. The feud between Seth Rollins and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose escalated to another level and Darren Young continues to show Intercontinental Champion Miz that he’s determined to take the gold. Now that the draft is officially set, there should be more action than usual on the blue brand.
Matches:
Seth Rollins vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose: Both men performed risky moves before the Lunatic Fringe got the upper hand and delivered Dirty Deeds to retain his title.
John Cena w/Enzo and Colin Cassady vs Luke Gallows w/The Club: AJ Styles and Karl Anderson: Enzo and Big Cass took The Club down as Cena defeated Gallows with an Attitude Adjustment.
Kane vs. Kevin Owens: The match was quickly tossed out as Zayn attacked Owens but Kane stood tall after he delivered a double choke slam.
Bray Wyatt w/Wyatt Family: Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman vs. Xavier Woods w/WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day: Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston: Although Woods showed some effort, it wasn’t enough as Bray Wyatt dominated and defeated his opponent with the Sister Abigail.
Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks: Banks destroyed her opponents a few times, but Charlotte had the advantage when she gave the Legit Boss the Natural Selection for a victory.
Chris Jericho vs Antonio Cesaro: Jericho was in deep trouble but he changed the match once he delivered the Code Breaker and won.
Darren Young and Zack Ryder w/Bob Backlund vs. United States Champion Rusev and Intercontinental Champion Miz w/Lana and Maryse: Young made a statement when he dominated Miz and defeated him when the Awesome One tapped out to the Crossface Chicken Wing.
