Review Fix: How did the band get together?

John Hayes: Threesound was originally formed back in 2011 in our high school band room. I was not in the band at that time. Once Andrew, (our lead guitarist), left for college, I was the fill in choice for guitar. Andrew then rejoined about a year later and thus Threesound was reunited as a 4 piece, and we haven’t looked back since.

Review Fix: How is this album different from your first?

Hayes: The title of our newest album, “Different Spaces,” is the answer in itself. We have all grown a lot over the past couple of years, both musically and individually, and are in a different place and different space then before, and this album expresses on the moments and experiences that lead us here.

Review Fix: What has changed since then?

Hayes: We’re all out of college now so we are getting our first taste of the real world. The world of “Adulting” has seems to swallow you whole sometimes, but nonetheless we are also seeing changes in our music and are focused on the band.

Review Fix: What makes “Bumblebee” unique? How was it written?

Hayes: Unique isn’t the first word that comes to mind when I think of this song, or any song we have rather. I hope that when listening to our music people can find a bit of themselves within the song and also find our thoughts or situations we are expressing are relatable to their own.

I wrote the song on acoustic guitar the whole way through like most of the tracks I compose, then bring it to the band for restructuring and feedback. Lyrics came last and thus “bumblebee” was born.

Review Fix: How do you want this album to reflect what you guys are doing right now?

Hayes: This album was meant to be a reflection of the past year or two that we’d experienced both individually and collectively, and we are confident it is a testament to that. We hope it can continue to reflect upon the ever changing situations that life will bring in the future and also serve as a snapshot of our lives in the moment of time the songs were written.

Review Fix: Why should someone listen to this album?

Hayes: Songs songs songs. That’s our focus as a band right now, and that’s what has come out on this new album. We want to be that band you have to listen to in the morning.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Hayes: New music, new videos, and new experiences. Shows, shows, shows on the road ahead, we hope to see you there!
