There are eggs as big as your head and a Red Team on a decline in an all new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.†Don’t pack your bags just yet, the fun has just started.
This is the first time in a long time that the intro starts after the “previously on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’†section. This show needs to make ups its mind.
The next day the chefs found that the dining room was filled with ostrich eggs. Ramsay made it seem like they were going to cook ostrich eggs, but instead it was ostrich meat. But first, the chefs had to break the eggs which contained ingredients they had to use in their dishes. There’s not like watching a bunch of fully grown adults causing carnage with oversized eggs.
Each team had to split into teams of two to make one cut of ostrich. Heidi, Kimberly, Heather, Koop and Aaron had the top loin, Ryan, Shaina and Johnny had ground ostrich, Gia, Jessica, Paulie and Andrew had oyster and Devin, Aziza and Wendy had the pearl.
For tasting Ramsay had to guests: chef/owners of “Joe Beef†David McMillan and Frederic Morin. The Red easily won this challenge 3-1 as is common in the early episodes of “Hell’s Kitchen.†Their reward was zip lining at “Big Bear Lake†and a ride on a private jet. Wendy bumping into the attendant was pretty funny.
The Blue spent the day cleaning up the dining room and pulling pine nuts out of pine cones. Matt decided to be a big baby and not help out and even threatened to leave. Thing is, he says he was in the military. If he acted like this in the military his CO would make him clean every toilet on base and do kitchen duty. Good thing Ramsay talked some sense into him.
This episode’s dinner service showed great improvement from the Blue Team but trouble from the Red Team.
In the Blue Paulie’s first scallop dish was overcooked. His second attempt was burned. The Blue was on a roll when suddenly a burned mashed potato stopped their momentum. They did finish dinner service, though.
In the Red, Kimberly started off by overcooking scallops. Later, after bringing up a perfect rack of lamb, Gia sent up an overcooked one. She then sent up two Wellingtons that were not sliced properly. She even complained about cutting her finger off which didn’t even happen. She’s just coming up with excuses now. The final nail in the Red’s coffin was Jessica’s overcooked tableside pasta, a raw salmon and a Raw Welling. Ramsay kicked the entire team out.
At elimination the Red nominated Gia and Jessica decided to put herself up. Jessica was eliminated.
Gia should’ve been eliminated because she messed up more and she started a huge argument when the Red was deciding who to nominate. The only reason Ramsay eliminated Jessica is because she already packed her bags, which Ramsay took as giving up. The egg part was the best part of the episode while the rest of the episode was basic “Hell’s Kitchen.†This season needs to start wowing the audience if it wants people to continue to watch it.
