Hell’s Kitchen Recap: Blue Team Stinks

The Blue Team still can’t get their act together even with a member of “Aerosmith” in the dining room. Maybe a day as a pirate might help them in an all new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

This episode started with the chefs seeing a pirate ship in the middle of the dining room with pirates singing a sea shanty. This was an introduction to “The Seven Seas Seafood Challenge.” Ramsay just keeps coming up with these wild ideas for “Hell’s Kitchen,” huh? In this challenge, Ramsay would ask one chef who she/she would like to go up against, that chef would then choose from one of seven scrolls that have a major body of water on it that the pirates are holding and both chefs had to cook whatever fish is on the back of that scroll.

Heidi chose Johnny and he chose the Atlantic Ocean (Bluefin tuna.) Koop chose Kimberly and she chose the Mediterranean Sea (branzino.) Shaina chose Matt and he chose the Gulf of Mexico (grouper.) Paulie chose Aziza and she chose the Indian Ocean (Wahoo.) Ryan chose Aaron and he chose the Baltic Sea (cod.) Devil chose Heather and she chose The Arctic Ocean (Arctic char.) Finally, Wendy chose Andrew and he chose The Pacific Ocean (sea bass.)

The points went back and forth between the teams throughout the tasting. With it being tied at the last round (sea bass.) Andrew won it for the Blue Team. Their reward was lunch at “Petty Cash Taqueria” in Los Angeles with Ramsay joining them along with bowling. Ramsay was hilarious when he saw Aaron wearing shorts and he said, “where’s your trousers?”

The Red, on the other hand, spent the day prepping both kitchens and carrying everything from a delivery. Everyone was ragging on Kimberly because she never made couscous which was one of the reasons the Red lost. Not to mention Kimberly was constantly asking everyone how to make stuff. How she survived this far in this competition is amazing.

In this episode, each kitchen has chef’s tables. In the Blue it was the guitarist from “Aerosmith” Joe Perry and the Red had R&B singer Estelle. “Hell’s Kitchen” already has Steven Tyler so why not his other bandmates? Both kitchens killed it with the apps, but the Blue found trouble at entrees. Besides Ryan being like a deer in the headlights at entrees, the Red completed service.

The Blue started with cold garnish (Devin) and raw salmon (Johnny.) How that’s still possible in the sixth episode is anyone’s guess. Devin would later make a bland spinach and Andrew made two undercooked NY strips. Ramsay had no choice but to throw them all out. Yes, they got thrown out yet again.

The Blue nominated Devin and Aaron. Ramsay also wanted to hear from Johnny. Aaron got eliminated.

This Blue Team is a joke. This must be a record for most times a team has been thrown out of dinner service. If this continues, a female will be this year’s winner. The Red Team is a lot better without Gia even with the tiny mistakes made during the day’s challenge.
