WWE RAW Coverage: New Tag Champs, Reigns Faltering

This was anything but a waste of a show. Christmas or not, this week’s RAW told some interesting stories and was full of surprises.

Matches:

John Cena vs. Elias Sampson: Cena eventually got the win with the Attitude Adjustment after Sampson escaped the STF a few times and hit some monster offense of his own. Overall, it was an awesome opening match that showcased Sampson as a credible heel.

Hideo Itami vs. Brian Kendrick w/Jack Gallagher: Itami won with the GTS, but you could have heard crickets in the background.

Bayley, Mickie James and Sasha Banks vs. Absolution: Paige, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose: Lots of offense and spills to the outside and mayhem. Bayley hit her finish, but Paige eventually got the win with the Ram-Paige.

Heath Slater w/Rhyno vs. Kane: The Big Red Machine got the win with a Chokeslam on Slater. After the match, Rhyno tried the gore, but Kane hit the Chokeslam there too.

Finn Balor vs. Curt Hawkins: Balor won in a squash as WWE Creative continues to misuse the first ever Universal Champion.

Six-Man Tag Team Miracle on 34th Street Fight: Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari vs. Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa and Mustafa Ali: A wacky won that saw Alexander beat Daivari with the Lumbar Check.

Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe: Joe got the win via DQ as Reigns is all sorts of frazzled emotionally. Pushing the referee and trying to get revenge for his friend Dean Ambrose, Reigns is not thinking smart and Joe was on his game.

Braun Strowman vs. The Miztourage: Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel: Strowman squashed his opponents. What did you expect?

Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan vs. WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: The Bar: Sheamus and Cesaro: After avoiding his own immaturity and inexperience, Jordan scored the biggest pinfall victory of his career, giving him and Rollins the Tag Team straps.
