Review Fix chats with Seraphic Eyes’ Alberto Marconetto discusses the band’s origins, goals and hopes for their new EP, “Hope†and more.
Review Fix: How did the band get together?
Alberto Marconetto: Seven years ago after a car crash, I spent some weeks at home with my guitar playing my old songs, and thanks to new technologies and drum machines I realized a demo that shocked me. I fell in love with that music, I was again in love to play it and that demo wasn’t completely horrible.
After that I started to search for a drummer, I found Azza and on the bass guitar Laura, both found on the social networks! After that moment Seraphic Eyes (my 20 years old band) was reborn.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Marconetto: I don’t have a real creative process, it’s more an instinct of creating. I usually write alone, sometimes I do some exercises and something happen and then, when I write a sequence of notes and words that it’s not a shit, Azza and Laura accept it and together we create new songs, if they not accept… I sadly play that notes for me on my couch.
Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?
Marconetto: I really don’t know, there are a lot of songs and everyone has a story and this from the first EP, but I could talk about HOPE the title track of the last LP: that song started as a lullaby for my little child but time after time that I sang it to my daughter, I found new words and that melody it’s become a story about supporting hope inside ourself despite the difficulties.
Review Fix: What are your goals for 2018?
Marconetto: We hope to open some big gig during this year but it’s a secret what we are working on.
Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?
Marconetto: We live in a world constantly described as without purpose, but we think that there are other ways, a better life together for everybody is possible. “Another Life” for our “Losing Souls”.
In our music there are our thoughts, our mistakes and every solution we found and tried. Our music is our HOPE and are often hard but proud way for a better life and we hope that our experience maybe could give some help to someone.
Review Fix: What’s next?
Marconetto: We don’t see the future but we love to play and we work hard for continue on this way. Follow us on www.SeraphicEyes.com
