About Vonn Kiss:

Vonn Kiss realized that he had a purpose long before anyone had an opinion. It was this passion and growing positive response from fans that sent Vonn touring across the nation with country hit-maker David Allan Coe and other lyrical pioneers all while headlining his own shows. An authentic claim to fame proves Vonn Kiss & The Dark Horses stand-out singles to exist somewhere between traditional and outlaw country music. Vonn calls this format “lawless country” as he and the Dark Horses work hard to keep the timeless brand alive . It is this relentless vision that is portrayed throughout their unforgettable tracks. With each release thousands more are roped into the Vonn Kiss family. As numbers organically rise it is evident that there are no limits. Stay tuned as Vonn Kiss & The Dark Horses create standards beyond compare and deliver one of a kind music to the world.

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?

Von Kiss: Got involved in music initially singing in church as a young boy. I grew up idolizing my family (especially my uncle) who was on the road for years with Helen Cornelius and Jim Ed Brown then later ran a honky-tonk in South Carolina. So seeing the greats as a kid and watching him wanting to be on stage always drew me there.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Von Kiss: I’ve just always wrote what I’ve lived and when I was around David Allan Coe for a couple years he always expressed writing what it is your soul tells you to write and folks will feel it.

Review Fix: What does music mean to you?

Von Kiss: Everything it’s my therapy. I can’t imagine a world with no music.

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?

Von Kiss: It’s authentic country. Appealing to the heartland of America and the ones who make America what it is. The pain in all our lives that find inspiration in others by hope.

Review Fix: How are your live shows different from your studio work?

Von Kiss: Not much really. We cut the record live so in the recordings we got in a room and all played it at once and didn’t do one instrument at a time. Live just a little more engaging with the crowd telling the story about a song of feeling the energy in the air on what I feel needs to be found to make people enjoy it and want to comeback. It’s not scripted so every show will be different. It’s not robotic.

Review Fix: What inspired your latest single?

Von Kiss: Life and the struggle between life’s balance between living a dream while also trying to be the best father, son, grandson you can be while the music “business” tries to break you.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2020?

Von Kiss: Get out hopefully and play for the fans and letting them hear this new music and getting in at some point and cutting the new record.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Von Kiss: Just doing what my granddaddy taught me, never get too high or too low and just focus on the present taking one day at a time. Living in the moment now, not what might be or might not be.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Von Kiss: Just hope everyone continues to stay safe and I appreciate you taking the time today wanting me to answer some questions. The team will always and forever appreciate all the support while we plow through seeing where this all takes us.
