The Heights Players welcomes thoughts of spring and baseball with its fifth production of the 54th
season – the provocative play, Take Me Out, by Richard Greenberg.
Directed by Fabio Taliercio, this Tony Award-winning Broadway play tells the story of a major league baseball player’s decision, at the height of his career, to ‘come out’ as an openly gay man. An all-male show, much of it is set in the locker room of a professional baseball team. It is full of insights about baseball, masculinity and identity in the 21st century, told with humor, and ending in tragedy.
Performance dates are January 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 8:00 p.m., and matinees on January 10, 17 and 24 at 2:00 p.m. Please call 718.237.2752 for reservations or visit www.heightsplayers.org (24 hour notice, please). Please note that this production of Take Me Out does include male nudity and strong language and is not intended for children and audiences that are easily offended.
The Heights Players is located at 26 Willow Place, between Joralemon & State Streets, in historic downtown Brooklyn Heights. 2, 3, 4 & 5 trains to Borough Hall, M/R to Court St. Parking available in the general vicinity. See you at the theatre.
