I-Tunes Single of the Week: The Band Perry’s “If I Die Young”

Depending on who you talk to, talented country bands are difficult to come by nowadays, especially ones with members that consist of siblings. The Band Perry is an American country group who carries both of these aspects. Even though this family of outstanding musicians are not widely known, they recently debuted their first self-titled EP on April 6, 2010.

The track, “If I Die Young,” can easily touch someone’s heart with the vocals, lyrics, and melody. It would be tough trying to find anything wrong with the way The Band Perry performs the entire song.

Such a style is extremely similar to Taylor Swift’s genre.

The Band Perry has an outstanding number of distinctive things that each sibling contributes to their music. In “If I Die Young,” Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano) has such a compelling voice that it allows listeners to feel as if they are in her shoes and can relate to the story she is telling. Brothers, Reid Perry (bass guitar, background vocals) and Neil Perry (mandolin, drums, accordion, background vocals) easily and comfortably complete the setting of beauty and sadness throughout the track in order to leave a great effect on the audience.

Compared to other modern country musicians, The Band Perry highly demonstrates their soul and passion for what they do and they’re going to share this emotion with whoever is willing to listen.
