I-Tunes Single of the Week Review: Murs and 9th Wonder’s ‘Fornever’

Murs and 9th Wonder are two artful and accomplishing artists that have recently joined together only six years ago. Before teaming up as one, they needed to fully create their own styles. While 9th Wonder was gradually putting his name out to the public, with the help of Jay-Z and Destiny’s Child, Murs demonstrated himself as the most determined MC in the genre of hip hop.

Throughout their long journey, Murs and 9th Wonder have released three albums in total.

In their latest record, the track, “Fornever,” features a rapper by the name of Kurupt who accompanies Murs with significant lyrics and material. The lyrics explain how much confidence Murs has for his own style.

He practically toots his own horn during the entire song.

In addition to the bold, but witty vocals, 9th Wonder includes some serious hard-hitting beats that would make listeners bob their head the whole way through. This particular flow can be described as dynamic and soulful.

Though the tunes may be great, there is one aspect regarding the background music that isn’t too appealing. There’s an extra voice that is added on to the beats itself. It’s the voice of a woman who is repeating the same few lyrics. The singing is irritating and unnecessary for this type of track.

Ultimately, “Fornever,” is a decent song that those with an open mind would appreciate, especially when having to hear about someone bragging about their style.

Murs and 9th Wonder easily display their success as a duo and how there’s plenty more where that came from.
