Critical acclaim for Rust In Peace Live continues to build.  Here are some recent press quotes:

“[Dave Mustaine’s] innovative guitar-playing, which is still stellar…and his guttural voice still lines up with the rapid, thunderous kick drum that’s like a machine gun in its fury.”

–David Burger, Salt Lake Tribune, September 7, 2010

“Nailing a spirited, yet spotless, rendition of the release, this Megadeth are clearly just as capable―probably more so―than the line-up that originally recorded the masterpiece… there’s rawness mixed with accomplished ability that propels this concert DVD, ensuring that Rust In Peace Live feels almost as vital and necessary as the studio album it celebrates.”

–Keith Carman, Exclaim.ca, September 2010

“…this is a very solid set…Instrumentally, the songs sound great and the band is very tight…”

–Mike Long, DVDSleuth.com, August 28, 2010

“If you missed this tour you missed a moment that was carved in history, but fear not Shout! Factory has it wrapped up nicely.”

–Jeffrey Easton, MetalExiles.com, August 30, 2010

“…every track from its namesake release gets due diligence and enormous fanfare, every musician does their duty to a ‘T’… this is a landmark record given the true epic treatment.”

–David Buchanan, ConsequenceOfSound.net, September 1, 2010

“This live album is a testament to the greatness of the album, the amazing songs, incredible musicianship, and again shows just why the album is so revered…Rust In Peace has a wonderful flow and pace that this live recording preserves.”

–Chris Beaumont, BlogCritics.org/CriticalOutcast.com, September 1, 2010

“The picture and sound quality is amazing, really breathtaking to behold…The audience participation is rabid…as perfect as a live metal DVD can ever get.”

–Robert Williams, Metal-Rules.com, September 2, 2010

“Megadeth are on top form, producing and demonstrating some of the very finest riffs and licks on the planet…A brilliant DVD.”

–AltSounds.com, July 30, 2010

“…the picture quality on the Blu-Ray edition is stellar. Crisp and clear, this is truly about as close to being at a Megadeth show that you’re going to get without being there.”

–KikAxeMusic.com, September 7, 2010

Rust In Peace Live marks the return of original bassist David Ellefson (Megadeth 1983-2002) to the iconic multi-platinum group after eight years.  Ellefson (bass) joins Mustaine (lead vocals, guitar), Shawn Drover (drums) and Chris Broderick (guitar).  The Blu-ray, DVD and CD feature the entire Rust In Peace track listing, including all-time classics “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due” and “Hangar 18” along with bonus fan favorites from the rest of Megadeth’s catalog, including “Symphony Of Destruction,” “Peace Sells” and “Skin O’ My Teeth.”

The 80-minute Rust In Peace Live DVD (5.1 Dolby Surround 16:9 Widescreen) and Blu-ray (5.1 DTS Master Audio 1080p High Definition) were directed by Kerry Asmussen (Green Day, Jay-Z, Coachella) with audio mixed by Ryan Greene. The DVD and Blu-ray also feature behind-the-scenes footage, including a rare glimpse of the band rehearsing in their dressing room as they prepare to take the stage.

Since rising to international fame in the 1980s, Megadeth has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including six consecutive platinum albums, with eight consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance.  Mustaine’s recently-released book MUSTAINE: A Heavy Metal Memoir debuted at #15 on the New York Times best seller list in the Hardcover Nonfiction category.
