“Light You Up” – Shawn Mullins

The first throngs of Shawn Mullins’ “Light You Up” will make you go ahh. Its smooth jazz vibe with spoken word mixed in makes this song a pleasure to listen to. Definitely download this one.

“Monkey” – Low

Someone’s experimentation with sound is another’s irritation. It mostly sounds as if something is wrong with the musical equipment, or that it’s a bad demo. Whatever the case it’s not worth listening to.

“I’m No Good (For Ya Baby)” – Laura Bell Bundy

If “I’m No Good (For Ya Baby)” by Laura Bell Bundy wasn’t free it may not have been heard by a wide audience – which it so richly deserves. There’s something about it that will remind you of Loretta Lynn or Dolly Parton. It’s also a fun sounding track and Bundy’s voice is a pleasure to listen to.

“Thank You For Your Love” – Antony and the Johnsons

Whoever is loving Antony they’ve left him nearly speechless because “Thank You For Your Love” is nearly the entire song. There are a couple of phrases thrown in, but for the most part it’s mostly a variation of the title. Never has so much been said by so few words.

“Younger Us” – Japandroids

Some people should never be allowed to enter a recording studio. To say “Younger Us” is horrible would be doing it a kindness. On first listen you’ll want your money back for this free download.

“Changing Your Mind” – Bob Schneider

Bob Schneider’s in pain, and by listening to “Changing Your Mind” you’ll understand why he was left. This track is slow and monotonous. You’ll wish Schneider would have kept his pain to himself.

“All Things New” – Sidewalk Prophets

“All Things New” by Sidewalk Prophets is actually a good song. Lyrics and musicianship work to the point where you could sense that it should be on a soundtrack for a film or your favorite television series. It definitely has replay value and you should try it out. You’ve got nothing to lose since it’s free.
