Seinfeld + Norton= Karo

The easiest way to tell if a stand-up comedian is talented is to count how many times you check the clock during their performance.

If it happens once or twice, chances are the comic is ok but needs some work. More than that and there’s obviously some holes in their routine.

However, if it never happens, you’ve got someone special.

Enter Aaron Karo.

During his new CD, “The Rest is History,” there’s a constant struggle going on between the listener and their CD  or MP3 player. You see the tracks you’ve listened to adding up and the inevitable eventually happens. It’s over. The problem is you don’t want him to stop telling stories. Relatable, hilarious and fun, Karo is an up and coming comic worth listening to, with an extremely bright future.

Discussing everything from how men stalk women on Facebook before asking them out to how men deal with being set up, Karo’s comedy is definitely more suited for the male audience. Nevertheless, women will love him as well for his brutal honesty and the depth of his jokes. Throughout the routine, you’ll understand why Karo is hilarious. Able to be totally shameless, yet far from disgusting or overly foul-mouthed, Karo is able to have his comedy appreciated by every demographic.

Overall, he’s the kind of comic that is able to take regular, everyday situations and make them extra funny. Writing like this, Karo isn’t the type of comic that is going to have a problem coming up with material in the future. This is seen so many times throughout the CD, where he is able to tell stories about being set up with women, pregnancy scares and traveling. Small wordplay thrown in helps his cause too and makes him more than a comic known for great writing. His inflection and phrasing is different from most comics too, making his voice unique.

However, the best reason to check him out is the fact that he makes himself out to be  a regular guy that just happens to not have a filter. Because of this, the lines uttered throughout his routine will remind you of conversations you’ve had with your best friends over the years.  Like a well-traveled storyteller, Karo is able to hook you and keep your attention throughout his routine.

When it’s all over, Karo shows the audience he’s loud, obnoxious and horny, just like you. At the same time, he’s crafty, honest, quick and charming, regardless of his thoughts on bizarre thoughts on Capricorns, animals and phone sex.

Edgy and silly throughout, Karo is easily one of the most promising comics performing today.
