Relativity Pacts with Tatum

Studio enters production deal with actor’s production company

(Beverly Hills, CA) Relativity Media has announced it has closed a production deal with actor Channing Tatum and producing partner Reid Carolin’s unnamed production company.

The studio has worked with Tatum on the films Dear John, Fighting, and Haywire. The production pact is for two years and allows Relativity the opportunity to partner on projects that the company develops.

“Channing is an immensely talented actor and incredibly enthusiastic about finding material to produce with Reid. We look forward to working with the two of them over the coming years,” said Relativity’s President of Worldwide Production, Tucker Tooley.

The production company’s first project, which is not part of this new deal, Ten Year, about a high school reunion, starts production in December in New Mexico. Directed by Jamie Linden, writer of Dear John and We Are Marshall, the film stars Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Kate Mara, Brian Geraghty, Chris Pratt and Justin Long. The company’s other projects in development include Contortionist’s Handbook with Greenestreet Films, What’s Left of Us and 11 Minutes. Channing Tatum will next be seen in a comedic turn in Universal’s The Dilemma, followed by his starring role in the Focus Features Roman epic adventure, The Eagle. He will also star in Sony’s The Vow with Rachel McAdams, and he will star opposite Al Pacino and Katie Holmes in Dito Montiel’s Son of No One which will close the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Reid Carolin developed and Associate Produced Stop-Loss, and most recently produced Earth Made of Glass, a documentary about Rwandan President Paul Kagame, recently nominated for a 2011 Producer’s Guild Award for Best Documentary Theatrical Motion Picture. Jenna Dewan will also be a development partner in the company.

Tatum is repped by UTA, Management 360 and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller & Hoberman.
