Critically Awesome

Condition Critical, a quartet from Beachwood, NJ has only played three or four shows, but word of their awesomeness is spreading fast. As a live band, they’ve deliver more than expected and have blown almost every other band out of the water.

Almost entire crowds of people have left after their sets.

The demo was released August 21, via their reverbnation page for free download.

The band has a very obvious Demolition Hammer influence and are even being referred to as “Demolition Hammer Jr.” due to their intensity and near identical sound. As a result, the three song demo is incredible. The sound is brilliant. The production is slamming and the tracks are devastating. Be warned: one listen and your home will be reduced to ashes from the sonic force.

Lead guitarist Alonso Maguino has the attitude of Tom Araya and the ferocious riffs of his idols. Wreaking havoc among the songs as well as Dave Hewson’s great rythyms and blistering solos to help carry the mayhem inducing sound of the Crit.

Of course, just like their idols, the rhythm section of the band is truly the driving force and the power behind the intensity in the front. Bassist Mike Dreher and drummer Ryan Donato are absolutely mind-numbing with their incredible precision and ground breaking thunder. Dreher has found a way to get the perfect tone that will get every bass player jealous beyond belief and start trying to get the gear he uses. Donato, on the other hand, is his idol, Vinny Daze’s clone baby that was unleashed onto the world as Daze left it in 1993.

The kid can play as hard and as technical as they come.

Condition Critical’s demo is beyond mighty and by far the most brutal thing in years. As ballsy as that is to say about a band’s demo, you’ll have to find out for yourself. If you’re on the east coast, find a way to see them. If you’re not, find video clips.

With this kind of sound, these guys better make it, or else it’s your fault.
