‘Hung’ Coverage: Just Hot Enough

Episode Commentary: **** Me, Mr. Drecker or Let’s Not Go to Jail

This show continues to build stories that work on so many levels. With the solid stable of actors the show has, and how much the writing has improved this season, watching it all unfold has been a pleasant surprise.

Fun, sexy and full of drama, “Hung” is probably the best show on cable you aren’t watching.

While the storyline involving Jessica (Ann Heche) and her inability to be in control of her own life, without the help of a man, is cute and is sure to be built upon the rest of the season, the angle with Ray and Ana Ortiz’s character is the most interesting. Will Ray go to jail? If he does, will Tanya bail him out the same way she did for her pimp a few episodes ago? Will Lenore get involved? So many different possibilities in a 28-minute show make for a lightning quick pace. The show absolutely flies by.

The other plot line with Lenore, Jason and his fiancée is also worth watching. Somehow, you get the feeling Lenore and her are going to go at it in one-way or another. How will this affect her new business?

Then there’s Ray’s situation with Logan. Is he falling for her? The scene at the party left his heart on his sleeve. At the same time, it was well-shot and continued to show Ray free and confident-more than we’ve ever seen him up to this point. While it appears it may be a Jemma situation all over again, (Ray, like most men, has bad luck with blondes) the reenergized writing team may have a few tricks left.

Through the first two seasons, there weren’t many times where you were excited for next week. With a slew of sexy new characters and a newfound energy behind both the writing and stars of the show, “Hung” continues to improve its stamina every week.
