There are literally thousands, maybe even millions of singers out there, desperately trying to make it in the music industry. Obviously, not many will. Â That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be given a shot though. Here are our picks for those that not only deserve a listen, but are in need of mainstream consideration and affection.
Josiah Leming: His album “Cmon Kid†shows the beginning a radio-friendly pop formula that is meaningful and easy on the ears. His ability on the piano only make him that more intriguing.

Jason Corcoran/Gaston Light: Fuse folk and country conventions with often intoxicating lyrics and a Johnny Cash sense of style and you have Corcoran. AKA Gaston Light. His latest album, “Peel,†is the type you can listen to a bar, while down on your luck or even when you’re in need of self-reflection.

Dave Barnes: “God Gave Me You†and “Until You†are romantic masterpieces, but they haven’t sky-rocketed him to success just yet. When someone with this much talent isn’t a megastar, something is wrong in the industry.

Gina Sicilia: Soulful, the small frame of Sicilia is able to absolutely boom sound. Her new album “Can’t Control Myself†looks to be her breakout.
Lucy Schwartz: She’s released an EP and an album, but her song with Landon Pigg, “Darling I Do,†which appeared on the last Shrek film, shows her ability on the piano and her beautiful breathy voice. She sounds a bit like Sarah McLaughlin, but has an innocence and soul that separates her from the pack.

Lelia Broussard: Another beautiful young woman with a huge voice, Broussard is a louder, purer version of Taylor Swift who isn’t ruled by mainstream constraints. A girl with a story and a guitar, her talent is impossible to assess. Her live performances prove her ability even more than her studio work as well.
Matt Costa: This guy has three albums out with over a dozen great tunes. His songs have appeared on commercials as well. So why has true mainstream success alluded him? Who knows. What we do know is that as far as acoustic rock is concerned, Costa is the bees knees.

Brock Zanrosso: Justin Bieber has company among Canadian teenage pop hart throbs. This kid can sing, dance and has an appreciation and understanding of music that goes well beyond his age.

Keaton Simons: Over the past few years, Simons has appeared on television shows and regularly tours the country. His smoky voice, combined with balladeer-type lyrics make him a beautiful combination of Jim Croce and Smokey Robinson. His song “Without Your Skin†will melt your heart.
Jim Bianco: This is the kind of guy you would enjoy most in a cloudy bar, sitting on a stool just singing his ass off. But with a great mind for music and catchy lyrics, he’s toured with people the likes of Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook and has a cult fan base. He deserves more though.
